The possibility existed to create a functioning soup kitchen which uses biogas produced on site, in a community garden in Khayelitsha. The community garden currently exists and is run by an organisation called AbalimiBezekhaya.  Traditionally, the gardens are run by members of the community who produce organic vegetable for their own consumption and to be sold to the public.
